I think this is now my favorite take on Death Note in live action form. As with any telling of Death Note, its tragic, and will keep you on you r toes until the very end. But in this retelling you don't know who is going to "win" until the very end, it keeps you on edge, and you can really connect with both the main characters more than ever before. The first two films adapt the manga series with some notable changes, and after that the series continues with original story lines. Some do not like that L is more animated and shows more emotion, but I really appreciated the small changes that made this drama its own story.
